Reclaiming Community
Reclaiming-inspired intentional community
Our Vision & Mission
All life is sacred and interconnected and each of us embodies the Divine. We imagine a world with shared power, intellectual, spiritual and creative freedom, a questioning attitude, open leadership, and a balance of individual autonomy with responsibility. We envision a world which values all genders, races, ages, sexual orientations, and people of different life situations and abilities. Our multi-generational, Reclaiming-inspired community honors the wild and calls for service to the Earth and community. We use permaculture and magic to support and engage in activism, provide healing for ourselves and others, and strive to live sustainably. Our next steps
We are in the process of narrowing down our site criteria, looking for land and making decisions regarding legal and financial structure.

Working in sacred space throughout the meetings, we deepen our connection with each other and the other realms through the use of visioning, trance, deep listening, healing work, divination, astrology, and ritual
What we are doing
Since the creation of our community in November of 2006, we have been hard at work. We have come to consensus on several foundational documents including how we make decisions (we use consensus for most of them), what our membership process looks like and what our behavioral ground rules are. We are also in the process of creating a toolbox for conflict transformation, which consists of things like using nonviolent communication, listening circles and a community council. As a part of our mission, we hold a value of connecting with and strengthening the web of Reclaiming communities as well as other intentional communities. This may happen through offerings such as workshops and trainings, a mystery school, hosting witchcamp, being a demonstration site for natural building, renewable energy, water usage, gardening, and permaculture. We will likely serve as a local hub for organizing, rituals, music, art, social gathering at the cafe, and revitalization at the healing center.
The Membership Path
- Log on to our web page.
- Check out the vision statement and all current agreements.
- Join the supporters email list and introduce yourself to the community.
- If you agree with the foundational documents of the community the next step for membership is a series of face-to face meetings.
- The meetings are a time for you to get to know the community and the community to get to know you.
- New membership is a decision agreed upon by all current members using the community consensus process.
- After a new membership is extended, it is required that one attend community consensus training at a face-to-face meeting and pay monetary dues.
- Choice and responsibility - Our behaviors and our actions are ultimately our own choice and our own responsibility.
- Thinking well of others - We think well of each other and of the group.
- Valuing and trusting ourselves - We value and trust ourselves.
- Honoring the community - We value the community that we are creating together.
- Sacred Wounds - We acknowledge and honor that each of us brings to the community a unique his/herstory, and that we each have sacred wounds.
- Transformational Conflict - Conflict is an inevitable part of community life, and as such we will honor the work and guidance of the Conflict Transformation Team.
